CHMSUans become climate reality leaders

Eight CHMSUans are now fully-pledged climate reality leaders after taking part in the Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training by the Climate Reality Project Philippines last March 29, 2025 at Citadines Hotel, Bacolod City.

National Service Training Program Director Esther Leah Macatimpag and Director Rino del Castillo of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office led the delegation from CHMSU to the training.

They were accompanied by Information Officer Keith Brandon L. Cari-an of the Center for Internationalization and External Relations, Fortune Towne Campus Coordinator Oliver Pavillar of the NSTP Office, and Michael Jason Somodio of DRRM Office.

Bachelor of Secondary Education in Marh junior Chrisha Joy Natividad, BSED English third-year Karen Shyne Sajonia Silva, and BS Civil Engineering first-year Raesan Perez completed the roster of CHMSUans who applied and got accepted to the training held.

Joining the total of 80 participants from all over the Philippines, the CHMSUans listened to the speech of Nobel Peace Prize laureate and U.S. Vice President  Al Gore, joined in hands-on activities, and got to ask questions to speakers in several panel sessions.

Towards the end of the day, they received their “green ring” pin.

By wearing the pin, the new climate reality leaders catalyze a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity across every level of society.
