In Loving Memory of Maria Remia J. Tipon

The CHMSU community extends its heartfelt sympathy on the passing of former

College President Maria Remia J. Tipon, PhD, who has joined her Creator.

The late President Maria Remia J. Tipon began her career in education as a classroom teacher at Talisay National High School. On June 13, 1978, she joined the Negros Occidental College of Arts and Trades as a secondary school teacher. Over the years, she rose through the ranks, eventually earning the position of Professor IV, which she held until March 26, 2004.

On March 27, 2004, she was appointed President of Carlos Hilado Memorial State College, a role she served with dedication until July 31, 2008. As College President, she was known for her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to academic excellence. Her contributions left a lasting impact on the institution’s growth and development.

For those who wish to visit the wake of Maria Remia J. Tipon, it is being held at Emmanuel 1, Rolling Hills Memorial Chapel, Bacolod City.

You may also offer your prayers during the First Friday Mass on July 4, at 3:30 PM, at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium, CHMSU Talisay (Main) Campus.
