COED instructor begins two-week AFS Educators Exchange Program in Malaysia

Instructor Rolando Jr. Peralta of the College of Education has officially begun his two-week exchange study program in Malaysia, under the AFS Educators Exchange Program of AFS Intercultural Programs Philippines Foundation, Inc., in collaboration with AFS Intercultural Programs Malaysia.

He is currently hosted by a Malaysian family for the entire duration of his stay, from July 12 to 26, 2025.

Together with fellow educators from India, China, and Malaysia, Instructor Peralta has participated in school visits across various states, enriching their understanding of intercultural education and global perspectives.

“As an educator, it’s amazing to realize that despite our differences—whether in food, clothing, or language—we all share a common goal which is to inspire and create change, one child at a time,” said Peralta.

He is also scheduled to visit several academic institutions, including SK Seksyen 13 Shah Alam, SMK Sultan Abu Bakar, SK Air Merah, and Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia, as well as notable sights in Kuala Lumpur, Pahang, and Penang.

He also urged students, faculty, and staff to pursue cultural exchange programs.

“Whether you are a student or an employee, these experiences broaden your worldview and connect you with a global network of changemakers,” Peralta said.

If you are interested in applying for various international opportunities, do not hesitate to visit the Center for Internationalization and External Relations at the Talisay Campus, and the CIER coordinators in the external campuses, he added.
