BSED English student-researchers earn nod at 2nd SUCTEA VI Int’l Confab in Iloilo City

A team of third-year Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English student-researchers was recognized at the 2nd SUCTEA VI International Conference and 1st National Students’ Congress, held May 25–27, 2026 at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City.

Vanessa Articulo, a BSED English 3A student-researcher, was awarded Best Paper Presenter in Research. The award recognized her outstanding presentation of the research study “Breaking Down the Skibidi: A Morphological Analysis of Generation Alpha Slang.”

Alongside this individual honor, the full research team received a Certificate of Recognition as authors of the same paper, presented during the conference in grateful acknowledgment of their scholarly contribution. The recognized authors are Jess Real Alob, Articulo, Kim Raven Asahan, Aigrette Kaye Acasio, Stanford Barzo, Francine Nicole Agum, Khane Louise Beboso, and Precious Berja, all members of BSED English 3A.

The research was completed under the guidance of adviser Prof. Johara Louise Temporosa and research instructor Prof. Vanessa Joy Judith, with additional mentorship provided by core faculty members Prof. Ma. Rosa Caraballe, Prof. Sarah A. Galang, Prof. Elmer Gumban, Prof. Judith, Prof. Norberto Parcon Jr., Prof. Kim Pillado, and Prof. Temporosa.

Under the theme “Navigating the Future Frontiers of Education, Research, and Extension,” the international research conference was organized by the State Universities and Colleges Teacher Educators Association, Inc.  (SUCTEA) chapter in Western Visayas (Region VI).
