A faculty of the College of Industrial Technology at Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) delivered a standout performance at the Industrial Technology Resource Convention (INDTERCON) 2026, held September 22–24, 2026, under the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities of Industrial Technology, Inc. (PACUIT).
Competing against faculty delegates from State Universities and Colleges nationwide, Prof. Rachel Badiana, and her team “The Champions”, took part in the convention’s culminating innovation challenge, a hands-on food product development competition held in partnership with Kikkoman Philippines and guided by Japanese trainers and technical experts.
The INDTERCON 2026 was held in Bulacan State University and Southern Luzon State University.

In the Cake Category, she was joined by Renissa Suganob Cosicol of Caraga State University Cabadbaran Campus and Juanito Mendoza of Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology in creating the Chiffon Soy Caramel Praline.
The team’s performance there proved exceptional, they were named Overall Champion after winning in both the Best in Cake Category and Best in Ice Cream Category.
Their work also resonated strongly with fellow participants, who honored them with the Audience Choice Award.

This sweep of recognitions underscores CHMSU’s continued commitment to excellence in Culinary Technology education, as well as the university’s active participation in national capability-building initiatives that foster innovation, cross-institutional collaboration, and industry partnership.
