CHMSU strengthens gender-responsive practices through HGDG seminar-workshop

The Gender and Development (GAD) Office conducted the Seminar-Workshop on the What, Why, and How of the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG) on October 2, 2026, at CHMSU Talisay (Main) Campus, as part of a university-wide initiative to strengthen understanding and application of gender-responsive development practices.

On behalf of University President Norberto Mangulabnan, Vice President for Academic Affairs Arjay Alvarado delivered the opening remarks welcoming the faculty members to the activity, while GAD Director Ana Mary Ann Pancho gave the briefing and rationale for the seminar-workshop.

President Norberto Mangulabnan also extended his message, emphasizing the importance of advancing gender equality, inclusivity, and empowerment within the CHMSU community.

The program featured discussions led by Vanessa Cayacay, Director for Extension Services, and Kristine Soberano, Director for Research and Development, both from the State University of Northern Negros.

The seminar-workshop formed part of a series conducted across CHMSU campuses, following sessions at Alijis Campus on September 4, Binalbagan Campus on September 11, and Fortune Town Campus on September 18, 2026.

Through the initiative, CHMSU continues to promote gender-responsive, inclusive, and development-oriented practices across the university community.
