CHMSU harvests top awards at LOKALympics: Tagisan ng Dunong 2026

Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) students from the College of Arts and Sciences brought home three major awards from the LOKALympics: Tagisan ng Dunong 2026, finishing as Champion, 1st Runner-up, and 5th Runner-up in the competition organized by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

The competition was held on October 6, 2026, at Bacolod City College in Bacolod City, with the theme “LGC@35: Kusog sang Katawhan, Kusog sang Lokal nga Panguluhan.”

It was part of the celebration of the 35th Local Government Month. The awarding ceremony followed on October 9, 2026, at the SM City Bacolod Event Center, where the university’s winning teams received their certificates and prizes.

The Champion team was made up of Wolverine Dymosco of Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences (BASS) 4A, Nel Joshua Mosqueda of Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) 4A, and Oliver Reloj of BPA 3A.

The 1st Runner-up team consisted of Jennybeb Braganza and Vina Dela Pena, both of BASS 4A, and Froilan Sinerez of BASS 2A. The 5th Runner-up team was composed of Jericho Clint Ranoco of BPA 1A, along with Carl John Mosqueda and John Michel Angelo Sayo, both of BPA 2A.

All three teams were coached by Precious Jane Cañal, BPA Program Chairpersons, and Prof. May Peracullo, whose guidance and mentorship helped prepare the students for the competition.

The teams and coaches were accompanied by University Student Government Talisay Campus Adviser Noel Mamac.
