BS Information Systems students clinch top award in IPMO Pitching Competition

Students from the College of Computer Studies, College of Industrial Technology, and College of Education take center stage in the Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO) Pitching Competition held today at the REI Hub, Talisay Campus, December 10, 2025.

The team from fourth-year BS Information Systems, Fortune Towne Campus, clinched first place with their project “Gamified Trainee Placement System with Decision Support.” Innovators Jeric John Yangyang, Carl James Lacson, and Jerald Antiquera impressed the judges with their creativity and technical expertise. Their project also swept the Special Award for Best in Presentation and Innovative Idea, proving both its ingenuity and strong delivery.

The team composed of fourth-year BS Industrial Technology major in Food Trades Technology students from the Alijis Campus, secured second place with “Banana Blossom Kimchi,” crafted by Kinneth John Prudente, Kiana Marie Monillo, and Shyramie Quizana.

The project “Pencroscope” by Bachelor of fourth-year Secondary Education major in Science students Ceejay Faala and Nice Lyn Villanueva of the Binalbagan Campus captured third place.

In total, nine teams showcased bold ideas and innovative solutions across the four campuses, proving that CHMSUans rise to the challenge of turning ideas into impactful solutions.

The competition was held at the Technology Business Incubation (TBI) Center of the Research, Extension, and Innovation (REI) Hub, Talisay Campus.

The CHMSUans showcase their innovations before a panel of judges composed of Charl Lee Magan, co-founder of Kingdon Kusina Catering Services; Isiah Louis Hinolan, owner of Ian and Sons Construction and Construction Supply; and Engr. Ian Fred Solar, CEO and founder of IF Green Technologies.

Organized by the IPMO under the leadership of Director Armando Reosura, the competition challenges CHMSUans to address community problems through creativity, innovation, and ingenuity.
