CHMSU begins Foundation Week festivities with fun run, SDG expo

Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) kicked off its 3rd University Foundation Week on May 13, 2025, with activities anchored on the Sustainable Development Goals.

CHMSUans rose early for the simultaneous “All Roads Lead to CHMSU” fun run in three locations.

In Bacolod, the Alijis and Fortune Towne campuses joined hands and raced to the finish line at The Upper East by Megaworld.

The Binalbagan and Talisay campuses also each held their versions of the fun run in their respective localities, which were also participated in by students, employees, and alumni.

Organized by the Sports Affairs Office, the winners of the simultaneous fun run won cash prizes, along with shoes up for a raffle draw courtesy of LS Dolocab.

CHMSU highlighted the various projects, programs, and initiatives led by students, faculty, and staff that contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through the SDG Expo Village.

From student organization projects, research, innovation, partnerships, to institutional programs, each project underscores how Education for Sustainable Development has been embedded in every fiber of CHMSU.

As CHMSU celebrates its 3rd University Foundation Week, the Library and Information Services across all four campuses officially open the “CHMSU Through the Years: Many Roots, One Vision” exhibit.

The exhibit features various publications, memorabilia, and materials that show the shared history and vision of all CHMSU campuses.

All campuses also held solemn masses to begin the week with faith and thanksgiving.
