CHMSU held its Institutional Recognition, Cultural and Wellness Fellowship, and Thanksgiving with the theme “Celebrating the Future through Physical and Mental Wellness” at the Multi-purpose Gym, Talisay (Main) Campus on December 16, 2022. Human Resource and Development Office spearheaded the event and administrators, faculty, and GASS personnel attended.
After some preliminaries, Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay B. Estrellas, EdD gave his welcome remarks where he cited the importance of collaboration and unity as the school adjusts to face-to-face activities in the new normal.
President Norberto P. Mangulabnan, PhD gave a brief message and expressed his hope that everyone will remain healthy and be together in the coming years. “Each one of us must contribute to the growth and development of the institution,” he said.
In her talk, guest speaker Ana Lou A. Panganiban, PhD, TUP Visayas Guidance Coordinator III, emphasized that the people in the institution are not just employees, but partners and that each one should practice an attitude of gratitude to achieve workplace positivity. Panganiban sad, “This is not about removing negativity, but this is you seeing opportunities rather than mischances, being better not bitter, and being proactive not reactive.”
The event proceeded with a dance performance from Physical Education Faculty, recognition of retirees and loyalty awardees, and awarding of door prizes.
Each of the four campuses and GASS personnel participated in a Cultural Presentation Competition. The five groups gave dance performances that featured fitness and wellness exercises. Talisay Campus won 1st place, followed by Fortune Towne Campus in 2nd place, Alijis Campus in 3rd place, Binalbagan Campus in 4th place, and GASS personnel in 5th place.
The celebration closed with a message from Vice President for Research and Extension Andrew Eusebio Tan, PhD and a raffle draw.
