CHMSU ROTC Unit ranks overall 2nd, bags multiple reg’l honors at RAATI 2025

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) emerged as one of the top-performing contingents during the 2025 Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) for Army ROTC Units in Western Visayas.

CHMSU received the Outstanding ROTC Unit award after garnering a score of 94.79%, earning Overall Rank 2 among the 18 units in Region VI that underwent the RAATI from April 28 to May 26, 2025.

The CHMSU ROTC Unit was also awarded Best in Arrival Honor, Best in Admin & Management, and Best in Close Order Drill by the 6th Regional Community Defense Group (6RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army, under the leadership of Colonel Jonathan Gayas AGS (GSC) PA, Group Commander.

The awards were conferred during the Closing Ceremony of the Advanced ROTC Academic Phase Training (ARAPT) MS 31/32, held on July 27, 2025, at the 6th Regional Community Defense Group Headquarters, Camp Adriano Hernandez in Dingle, Iloilo.

Receiving the awards on behalf of CHMSU were NSTP Director Esther Leah Macatimpag, ROTC Unit Commandant LTC Nathaniel R. Villasor PA (RET), Assistant Commandant 2LT Carlos P. Carlos PA (RES), Corps Commander PVT John Michael Olmedo PA (RES), ROTC Instructor SGT Simon Jude Gardose PA (RES), along with other ROTC officers.

CHMSU successfully underwent the RAATI on May 23, 2025. The inspection was led by COL Michael Asuncion CE (GSC) PA, RAATI 2025 Chairperson.

The RAATI is conducted to evaluate the ROTC unit’s administrative efficiency, tactical proficiency, resource management, and overall training quality.
