The College of Arts and Sciences launched the PAGSAKDAG Program, an expansion of the university’s training and development services, in La Carlota City last September 25, 2024 at the Mayor’s Hall.
The “PAGSAKDAG Program: Sustainable futures, bridging communities, improving lives” aims to expand the services of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University to the less privileged and underserved sectors of adults in the communities to help them avail themselves practical, innovative, and up-to-date training and development services that will prove helpful for them as they go about their daily lives.
During the program launch, the contingent from CHMSU was welcomed by La Carlota City Mayor Rex Jalando-on and Councilor January Abad, Sangguniang Panlungsod Chair for the Committee on Women, Family Relations, and Children.
The program envisions that several areas deemed to be significant are to be given attention–financial literacy, income generation, overall well-being, general literacy, and skills in construing information.
The Pagsakdag Program is led by Yvonne Velasco and facilitated by CAS ECS Coordinator April Abrera. Director for Extension and Community Services Roger Ray Manzano also joined the program launch.
The program is divided into three independent projects headed by different teams of experts in specific and relevant topics– Project DAGYAW led by project leader Everlou Maquiling, Project #SML led by Jansen Tumabing, and Project ARBs led by Soledad Estares.*
