ISAT-U visits CHMSU for best sustainable practices exchange

The CHMSU community hosted a benchmarking session with the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT-U) delegation this morning, March 19, 2025, at the Conference Room, Administration Building, Talisay Campus.

The visit is part of ISAT-U officials’ and unit representatives’ initiative to engage in knowledge exchange with various higher educational institutions across Negros Island, further promoting regional academic partnerships and innovation.

Leading the discussions were Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay Estrellas, Assistant VP for Academic Affairs Ma. Riza Manalo, Director Rhoderick Samonte of the Center for Internationalization and External Relations (CIER), Director for Research and Development Ricky Acanto, Deputy Director for Research Ethics Ivy Aboy, and Administrative Officer IV Gale Florence Escandelor of the Quality Management Office. 

The ISAT University team, headed by VP for External Affairs Nemia Mabaquiao, was joined by College of Arts and Sciences Dean Tracy Tacuban, Director for Planning and Auxiliary Services Sammy Daitao, Director for Quality Assurance Center Frisian Causing, International Ranking and Accreditation Officer Dessa Quinto, Marketing Communications Officer Jieza Napone, UNEVOC Focal Person Lyza Belle Lagura, Quality Assurance Staff Jullia Marie Raylos, and External Affairs Staff Geraldine Jane Togle.

Hosted by CIER, the visit provided a valuable platform for exchanging best practices in sustainability and frameworks for international accreditation.

University President Norberto Mangulabnan also personally received the delegation ahead of the formal discussions.

Representing CHMSU’s organizing team were Information Officer III Feliz Gemmavyn Tiosen, IO II Keith Brandon Cari-an, IO I Maria Faustina Magbanua, and Design Technologist Michael Franz Durano.

By sharing best practices in sustainability and international accreditation, both universities aim to strengthen their programs and enhance global competitiveness. 

This benchmarking activity underscores CHMSU’s commitment to fostering academic collaboration and continuous institutional development.
