Newly hired CHMSU employees undergo gender sensitivity training

Newly hired faculty members, general administrative support services (GASS) staff, and security personnel of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University underwent the Gender Sensitivity Training on November 27, 2024 at the Functional Hall of the Talisay (Main) Campus.

Organized by the Gender and Development Office, the training is part of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women.

Vice President for Administration and Finance Rosalinda Tuvilla welcomed the participants and resource speakers.

In her speech, she highlighted the importance of conducting gender sensitivity training to equip CHMSU employees.

Resource speaker Marie June Castro of the Negros Occidental Provincial GAD Focal Point System discussed the importance of gender sensitivity through lectures and interactive workshops.

GAD Director Elvie Samson urged the newly hired employees to not only apply what they have learned at work but also use the knowledge in their homes and community.

The participants also learned about Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE) to cap off the training.

The training was facilitated by GAD coordinators Ann Charyl Gallo, Rose Regala, and Ma. Hanna Grace Lopez.
