The CHMSU community warmly welcomed delegates from Japan who are visiting Negros Occidental to explore potential partnerships in the construction industry.
Alumni Relations Director Melanie Porquez and BS Civil Engineering Program Chairperson Engr. Geronemo Gotera III met with key representatives from the Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement (OISCA) and Civil Global Connect, Inc. on July 9, 2025.
The Japanese delegation included OISCA International Vice President Yasuaki Nagaishi, OISCA Bago Director Shigemi Watanabe, and Civil Global Connect executives—CEO Toshihiko Nonaka, COO Teruyuki Uchiyama, and CMO Akira Baba.

Their visit, held in coordination with the Center for Internationalization and External Relations (CIER), represented by Information Officer Keith Brandon Cari-an, aimed to explore opportunities for hiring skilled civil engineers from the province.
To conclude their visit to the university, they were given a tour of CHMSU’s BS Civil Engineering Program facilities and laboratories.
The delegation also paid courtesy visits to the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental and toured the OISCA Training Center in Bago City.
