Podbokasiya episode screening held in Binalbagan Campus

Students from CHMSU Binalbagan Campus gained valuable insights on how various technologies play a vital role in disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery through the Podbokasiya screening held on February 24, 2026, at the Supt. Dionisio Guilbert Convention Hall.

Produced by the Global UGrad Scholars of the Philippines Alumni Association, the screened second episode of the video podcast featured distinguished guests: DRRM Officer IV Jamaica Mueda of Sipalay City, Digicast Negros News Chief Romeo Subaldo, and Department Head II Richelle Verdeprado-Mangga of the Bacolod City Department of Social Services and Development.

Following the “vodcast” screening, CHMSUans shared their own experiences in an open forum and panel discussion. They shared how they used social media, particularly during the recent Typhoon Tino, which affected several areas in the province.

The event drew participation from students of the College of Education and College of Criminal Justice, along with members of the Red Cross Youth CHMSU Binalbagan Chapter and the Reserve Officers Training Corps.

Panel speakers emphasized the critical role of verified information during disasters. Administrative Officer Meo Mallorca reminded students to always verify announcements on class suspensions due to disasters and upcoming weather disturbances. He urged students to become champions in promoting verified information online while combating disinformation.

Binalbagan DRRM Coordinator Ronnie Kirt Sarimong stressed the importance of subscribing to official social media pages of the local government of Binalbagan, the Office of the Municipal Mayor, and the CHMSU Official Facebook page for timely and accurate announcements.
