In a warm show of support during the endterm examinations for the 2nd Semester of AY 2024-2025, the Library and Information Services (LIS) across all campuses of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) offered free hot beverages and snacks to students, faculty, staff, and personnel.
Dubbed Read and Brew, this initiative is one of LIS’s efforts to foster a supportive and welcoming environment for the CHMSU community, particularly those enduring the stress of exam season.
The free coffee and snacks were offered at the Talisay and Fortune Towne Campuses from June 9 to 11. Meanwhile in Binalbagan Campus, the community got to enjoy the Read and Brew from June 10 to 11. In Alijis Campus, students, faculty, and staff alike enjoyed the free coffee and snacks from June 9 to 10.
By providing refreshments, LIS encourages academic focus while promoting wellness and care within campus libraries.
The LIS team is headed by Director Jiji Berina, with campus librarians Ma. Lorela Santes (Alijis), Leah Balili (Binalbagan), and Prince Fidel Flores (Fortune Towne) leading the implementation of the initiative in their respective libraries.
