Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (PME) office kicked off the 3-day workshop entitled “Strategic Planning Continuum 2023 and SPMS” on February 20, 2023 at the Function Hall, Green Building, Talisay (Main) Campus.
The activity gathered CHMSU top and middle management to finalize the Five-Year Development Plan (FYDP) and tackle other concerns on strategy, monitoring, and more.
After some preliminaries, Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay B. Estrellas, EdD gave his welcome remarks, followed by President Norberto P. Mangulabnan, PhD., who gave his message and presented his vision and a brief overview of his plans for the university.
President Mangulabnan highlighted the relevance of data science and digitalizing the system and operations of the university for efficient and effective services. In addition, he emphasized the importance of dedication and innovation. “We have to go beyond the requirements, we have to work towards excellence and quality services. We have to stay relevant and committed,” he said.
PME Director Roselyn R. Alegarbes, PhD gave the rationale and presented expected outputs at the end of the workshop. Director for Internationalization and External Relations Rhoderick K. Samonte followed with a review of the Breakthrough Goals and Strategic Objectives.
The workshop proceeded with the Strategic Planning Preliminaries led by resource speaker Prof. Eddie Nuque.
After the discussion, the group was divided according to unit. VPAA Estrellas, Vice President for Research and Extension Andrew Eusebio S, Tan, PhD, and Vice President for Administration and Finance Ma. Rosalina S. Tuvilla, JD led their respective units in a focus group discussion on the FYDP.
Each unit presented its output and Prof. Nuque gave his feedback.
