CHMSU faculty now an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer

A faculty member of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University was recently accredited into the ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineers (ACPE) program through the Philippine Technological Council and the Professional Regulation Commission.

Engr. Manuel Uy, a faculty member at the CHMSU Fortune Towne Campus and president of the university’s Faculty Association, was recently honored to join the elite pool of experts in electronics engineering under the ACPE.

The ACPE is given to a professional engineer or practitioner who holds the nationality of an ASEAN member country and possesses the qualifications and experience.

Engr. Uy, who is also a Doctor of Philosophy in Technology Management alumnus at CHMSU, is one of the newly accredited professional engineers in the country.

Among the recognized fields of engineering practice offered in the Philippines are agricultural, aeronautical, chemical, civil, electrical, electronics, geodetic, mechanical, metallurgical, mining, naval architecture and marine engineering, and sanitary engineering.

A professional or practicing engineer accepted in ACPE has the opportunity to have their professional standing recognized within the ASEAN region.

Joining this roster of expats also adds value to their professional career when working and practicing their engineering expertise in the ASEAN economies, among other benefits.
