Located at the CHMSU Talisay Campus, the MRF’s new infrastructure utilizes the Enviro-blocks as primary materials which are made of recycled PET bottles as well as flexible plastic bags and packaging as filler, said Engr. Ramos.

Also present to support the launch were representatives of partner local government units, agencies, and organizations.

During the ceremony, messages of commitment and support were also delivered by Executive Asst. Rosalinda Tuvilla of Talisay City, Executive Asst. Gracelyn Palermo-Jamero of Murcia, DOST’s Engr. Alan Daraug, and Victorias City Councilor Vincent Marie Roa, who is the chairperson of the SP Committee on Environment.

The new sanitary toilet also has a water catchment feature and will be installed with solar-powered lights.

With the end goal of changing the behavior of communities on dependence to single-use plastics, this program is one step towards reducing wastes that end up in sewages, coasts, and the ocean.

CIER Director Rhoderick Samonte, Greening CHMSU Task Force Chair, gave the closing remarks and thanked the partners for expressing their commitment to support CHMSU in this new endeavor for the environment.
