Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) successfully concluded its two-day University-Wide Curriculum Revision Workshop, held August 24–25, 2026, bringing together academic leaders from across the university’s four campuses with technical evaluators from the Commission on Higher Education–Negros Island Region (CHED-NIR).
Organized by the Curriculum and Instructional Materials Development (CIMD) Office led by Director Liezl May Tortogo, the workshop gathered the college deans and program chairpersons at the Audio-Visual Room in Talisay (Main) Campus.

The workshop sought the expertise of Director for Quality Management Yrika Marie Duisaran and CHED-NIR Education Program Supervisors James Basas, Jose Leonardo Degillo, Benrie James Nufable, and John Rey Olpoc, who provided direct technical evaluation of proposed program revisions.
Day one focused on aligning curricular offerings with current CHED Memorandum Orders and institutional quality standards, followed by college-level self-audits and curriculum mapping exercises. Meanwhile, day two centered on the presentation of proposed curricular modifications by each college, culminating in an open-forum panel review with CHED representatives to validate findings and establish implementation timelines.

The workshop was designed to help CHMSU’s academic programs keep pace with evolving industry demands, sustainability principles, and regional economic needs, while strengthening the university’s compliance pathway ahead of Board of Regents approval for Academic Year 2027–2028.
The key outputs of the workshop included a revised curriculum set for implementation in AY 2027–2028, signed evaluation and technical review notes from CHED-NIR representatives, and a comprehensive workshop report for presentation to the Academic Council.
