Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) has announced a temporary four-day compressed workweek for offices across all its campuses, along with adjusted class arrangements, starting on Monday, October 19, 2026.
Under an advisory issued by the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance, the compressed workweek will run until the end of the First Semester of Academic Year 2026–2027.
All offices will be closed every Monday, and Monday classes will be held synchronously through online platforms.
Classes and laboratory work from Tuesday to Friday will remain face-to-face on campus, while Saturday classes will proceed as originally scheduled.
Offices will operate Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., although offices with approved flexible work arrangements may instead operate from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The advisory also reiterates the energy-saving guidelines for all campuses, underscoring the university’s commitment to sustainability.
