CAS faculty earns award at PASUC-VI EMC Regional Symposium

A CHMSU faculty member garnered third place in the Extension Paper category during the 14th PASUC-VI EMC Annual Regional and General Assembly held last September 30 to October 2, 2025 at the University of Antique.

Prof. April Abrera who teaches in the Bachelor of English Language program under the College of Arts and Sciences, won third place for her paper titled “Project VITAL (Visualizing and Innovating Talents through Arts and Language)” under Thematic Area 3: Transformative Education, Culture, Social Sciences, and Behavioral Sciences.

Project VITAL, an extension program of the College of Arts and Sciences, aims to uplift the quality of life for youth by providing development training in creative writing and visual arts.

With the theme “Extension Beyond Boundaries: Strengthening Impact Through Innovation, Inclusion and Integration,” the symposium highlighted research and extension initiatives that promote inclusive community development, interdisciplinary collaboration and sustainable impact across academic institutions.
