Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) successfully concluded its week-long Foster Week 2025 celebration across four campuses, welcoming hundreds of first-year students through comprehensive orientation programs, spiritual activities, and cultural events designed to integrate new students into university life.
The activity, which ran from September 2 to September 5, 2025, engaged freshmen from multiple colleges across four campuses in activities ranging from academic program orientations to creative competitions.
The week’s event emphasized comprehensive student integration, combining academic preparation with cultural expression. Creative competitions highlighted student talent and environmental consciousness, with the Sustainable Runway at Talisay Campus featuring eco-friendly fashion and the CHMSUan Idol 2025 competition providing platforms for students to demonstrate diverse talents while promoting social advocacy.

Alijis Campus concluded its celebration on September 4 with a special mass at the covered court, followed by team-building competitions and a symbolic candlelighting ceremony where first-year students pledged their commitment to academic success. The CHMSU-Alijis band “Kabanda” provided live entertainment, creating an energetic atmosphere for the day’s events.

Binalbagan Campus The campus conducted college orientations and tours for four colleges (CBMA, CCJ, COED, and COF) on September 4. The celebration culminated with cultural performances by ExCELSIOR student teams showcasing singing, dancing, and acting talents, plus a theatrical presentation by Istoryador, the university’s cultural group. The UniversiKEY competition tested students through academic and physical challenges emphasizing teamwork and creativity. Competition results: Team Integrity won Freshers Got Talent, Team Excellence claimed the UniversiKEY challenge and Best in Chant and Yells, while Team Environmentalism earned Most Disciplined Team recognition.

Fortune Towne Campus hosted specialized business program orientations on September 4. BS Entrepreneurship students, led by Chairperson Jonah J. Perulino, MBA, BSE, were introduced to student-operated ventures including Cloud, Spinack, and The Taste Spot. Prof. Jaime Berbano, PhD, conducted BS Business Administration orientation emphasizing CHMSU’s mission and core values, while Prof. Geoffrey Rivera, MBA, PhD, addressed BS Accountancy students with the program motto “study, study and study well.”

The week culminated with the “Sustainable Runway” fashion show, where students showcased creativity through eco-friendly designs, and the CHMSUan Idol 2025 competition, providing platforms for talent demonstration and social advocacy.
