CHMSU Library in Talisay Campus held a soft launching of Tatak Negrense Corner (Buglas Corner) at the 2nd floor of the library on May 31, 2022 as part of the university’s celebration of Heritage Month.
Facilitated by the Director for Library and Information Services, Ruvy M. Tuble, PhD, and Director for External Affairs, Rhoderick K. Samonte, the launching was attended by special guests: Ma. Chona Gosiaoco, DYAF Manager and Tatak Negrense Producer, and Mr. Modesto P. Sa-onoy a well know author, historian, and journalist in the province.
The event was also attended by Jay B. Estrellas, EdD, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Andrew Eusebio S. Tan, PhD, Vice President for Research and Extension, Janet P. Espinosa, Director for Student Affairs, and a few faculty, staff, and students.
The Taktak Negrense Corner is a space in the University Library which will soon be established in the libraries of the external campuses, to house a collection of materials (books, films, travel guides, etc.) about Negros.
Gosiaoco and Sa-onoy promised to add more collection from their original works before the new academic year begins.
