CHMSU renews commitment for a drug-free campus; 284 employees undergo drug testing in Talisay Campus

Ahead of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week in November, Carlos Hilado Memorial State University renewed its commitment to a safe, healthy, and drug-free university through a symposium on illegal drugs followed by a two-day drug testing of employees at the Multipurpose Gym, Talisay Campus on October 13, 2025.

In partnership with the Philippine National Police – Talisay Component City Police Station, CHMSU faculty, staff, and job order personnel participated in the info-session and drug testing in Talisay Campus.

A total of 284 employees underwent the testing at the Talisay Campus from October 13 to 14, 2025.

President Norberto Mangulabnan and Vice President for Administration and Finance Rosalinda Tuvilla expressed the university’s continued support to the anti-illegal drugs campaign of PNP in the locality.

They also thanked the participating university employees who submitted themselves for the testing.

Meanwhile, PLtCol Alvin Christopher Baybayan, Chief of Police of the PNP-TCCPS, urged the CHMSU community to stay vigilant and continue in being role models to the its students.

PSSg Jay-R Roquero then led the info-session on the laws on on drug abuse prevention along with important information on various illegal substances in the Philippines.

The symposium and drug testing is part of the university’s series of activities leading to the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week across all campuses.
