The Carlos Hilado Memorial State University kicked off the CHMSUan Freshers’ Week 2022 with a General Convocation and Student Orientation on September 5, 2022 at the Multi-purpose Gym, Talisay Campus. The event was hosted by the Office for Student Affairs, led by its Director Janet P. Espinosa, PhD, for the incoming first year students, transferees, and returnees.
The program included messages from CHMSU President Norberto P. Mangulabnan, PhD., Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay B. Estrellas, EdD, Vice President for Research and Extension Andrew Eusebio S. Tan, PhD., and Vice President for Administration and Finance Rosalinda S. Tuvilla, JD. The faculty and students of each college were presented by the respective Deans and there was also a variety of culture and arts performances that showcased the talents of the CHMSU students. The morning session ended with the Induction of the University Student Government for AY 2022-2023.
In the afternoon, the students were introduced to the different offices and services of the University.
This was the first face-to-face orientation after two years of quarantine due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event was also broadcasted simultaneously to students in the other CHMSU campuses.
