College of Education wins “Kamalayan at Kaalaman: Social Awareness Quiz Bowl 2026”

The College of Education (COEd) emerged as champion of the “Kamalayan at Kaalaman: Social Awareness Quiz Bowl 2026,” held February 27, 2026, at the University Multi-purpose Gymnasium, Talisay (Main) Campus.

Besting teams from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Industrial Technology (CIT), and the College of Business Management and Accountancy (CBMA), COEd secured the top spot in the annual academic competition.

Representing COEd, Enrico Q. Delicano Jr. (BTLED IA–3A) and Clark Ian C. Gonzales (BTLED HE–1A) clinched the championship title after a series of challenging rounds that tested participants’ knowledge of current social issues and critical thinking skills.

College of Arts and Sciences Team 1, composed of Jimer Talaman and Jedrick Villa (BS Psychology 2B), finished as first runner-up. Placing second runner-up were Ahmelzeth Abeto (BSHM 2C) and Vicmar Apat (BSHM 4D) from CBMA.

The quiz bowl was part of the institution’s Social Awareness Month celebration. It was organized by the Social Science Guild in collaboration with the CHMSU Psychological Society, CHMSU Debate League, and the Center for Internationalization and External Relations (CIER).

The event brought together students from across colleges for an engaging exchange of ideas, reinforcing awareness of pressing social concerns while promoting academic excellence and inter-college camaraderie.
