The College of Education (COED) of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) held a professional development seminar titled “Navigating the Revised K-10 Curriculum: Aligning Teacher Education with ILAW Lesson Design and Assessment Frameworks” on August 11, 2026, at the Audio-Visual Room (AVR), Talisay (Main) Campus.
The seminar was part of the College’s continuing efforts to strengthen the link between teacher education and the demands of the country’s revised K-10 curriculum.

“As basic education instruction evolves, the college recognizes that meaningful curriculum alignment must go beyond lesson design and extend into rigorous, forward-looking assessment practices. it also eyes to ensure that future educators are equipped not only to teach, but to evaluate learning effectively,” said College of Education Dean Ophelia Duayan.
The seminar featured the expertise of Education Program Supervisor for English Riza Gea and Education Program Supervisor for Mathematics Merle Estanislao, both from the Department of Education – Schools Division of Negros Occidental.
Participated in by the core faculty of the College of Education in Alijis, Binalbagan, and Talisay Campuses, the half-day seminar strengthened the bridge between basic and higher education by giving faculty direct access to field-tested expertise in curriculum-aligned assessment.
