Designees, officers, faculty members, and unit representatives from all four campuses gathered at the Talisay Campus Audio-Visual Room for a reorientation on the Ecological Waste Management System (EWMS), April 14, 2025,
CIER Director and Greening CHMSU Chair Rhoderick Samonte led the session, presenting the updated 19-point EWMS Policy Statements and Operational Guidelines signed by University President Norberto Mangulabnan.
These policies reinforce existing protocols and introduce new measures to foster a more sustainable and environmentally responsible CHMSU community.
Key highlights included the intensified enforcement of solid waste segregation, the rollout of a bring-your-own (BYO) policy, and the much-anticipated return of the Seal of Green Office Awards—an initiative that recognizes offices and workstations with exemplary green practices.
To ensure full implementation, a massive information campaign will be cascaded across all campuses in the coming weeks.
All CHMSUans—students, faculty, staff, alumni—along with university stakeholders and partners, are strongly encouraged to embody the spirit of Greening CHMSU and strictly adhere to the EWMS policies and guidelines.
In his message, Director Samonte challenged everyone to rise to the occasion and bring the university’s vision and mission to life through concrete, consistent environmental action.
