Professor Andrew Eusebio Tan, outgoing Vice President for Research, Extension, and Intellectual Property, served as the speaker for the inaugural professorial lecture at Carlos Hilado Memorial State University.
Held on August 13, 2025, at the Function Hall of the Talisay Campus, Prof. Tan delivered a lecture titled “Mobilizing GASS Personnel to Embrace CHMSU’s Strategic Direction.”
He emphasized the vital role of General Administrative Support Services (GASS) personnel in upholding good governance and ensuring the university delivers quality education through efficient support services.

Prof. Tan also addressed the challenges faced by the administration unit and the GASS personnel who work behind the scenes to sustain institutional operations.
The event brought together GASS and job order personnel from the Talisay Campus and also served as a farewell gathering for the outgoing vice president.

Prof. Tan shared his journey at the university, beginning in 2013 and culminating in his retirement this year.
Vice President for Academic Affairs Jay Estrellas and Vice President for Administration and Finance Rosalinda Tuvilla shared fond memories of working alongside Prof. Tan as fellow university leaders.
Supervising Administrative Officer Sharon Juance, along with Administrative Officer V Gladys Cepeda and Administrative Officer IV Gale Florence Escandelor, also offered their reflections on the lecture.
The event concluded with a fellowship gathering filled with camaraderie, as the university community expressed gratitude to Prof. Tan for his service—as a friend, mentor, and cheerleader.
