On September 2, 2022, the Carlos Hilado Memorial State University formally installed Norberto P. Mangulabnan, PhD as the 1st University President. The ceremony was held at the Multi-purpose Gym, CHMSU Talisay (Main) Campus, with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and guests from academic institutions and the local government in the audience. Marita R. Canapi, EdD, CHED Commissioner and CHMSU Board of Regents Chair, presented the Appointment of the President and also administered the Oath of Office.
A special recognition of the late Renato M. Sorolla, PhD was also included in the program and a Plaque of Appreciation was presented to his family.
The event closed with congratulatory messages from Dumaguete City Mayor Felipe Antonio B. Remollo and Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) President Tirso A. Ronquillo, PhD. A reception followed at the Nature’s Village Resort.
