The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) chapter of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) achieved significant success at the Accountancy Week Celebration 2026, securing multiple institutional championships and top individual placements.
The academic competitions, organized by the Negros Occidental Confederation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (NECONFED-JPIA), concluded with an awards ceremony on July 13, 2026 at Acacia Hotel.
The event was anchored on the theme, “Elevating the Filipino CPA Towards Ethical Leadership and Global Excellence,” focusing on academic determination and professional dedication. Comprised of members from the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program of the College of Business Management and Accountancy, the delegation from CHMSU competed in various events held at the National University – Bacolod.

In the institutional categories, CHMSU was named the Overall Winner and Champion in both the Intermediate Category and the Advanced Category. The university also earned second place in the Real Accounts Video Making Competition. These collective awards highlight the institution’s strong performance across diverse areas of the meet.
The university’s students also excelled in individual academic assessments. Jans Emmanuel Macariola won first place in the Narrative behind Ledger competition.
In the Intermediate Category for Outstanding Performance, Ashley Nequoligh Tongcua was recognized at Level 1, Tom Justin Martos at Level 2, and Jasper Catin at Level 3.
Furthermore, in the Advanced Category for Outstanding Performance, Kyla Mae Chua received distinction at Level 2, while Benedict Joseph Rivera was recognized at Level 3.

These accomplishments underscore CHMSU’s ongoing commitment to academic standards and the rigorous preparation of its accountancy students for the demands of the profession.
