PNEE, UPLB-SESAM introduce ‘Dark Green School Program to CHMSU

CHMSU officials and designees, led by President Norberto Mangulabnan learned about the Dark Green School Program (DGSP) of the Philippines Network of Educators on Environment (PNEE) with the University of the Philippines Los Baños – School of Environmental Science and Management (UPLB-SESAM) through an orientation held at the Conference Room, Talisay Campus on April 28, 2025.

PNEE President Cecil Gascon and Evangeline Alcantara of UPLB-SESAM led the orientation.

The Dark Green School Program is a project launched in 2008 by the Environmental Education Network of the Philippines (EENP), now the PNEE, as an assessment system that categorizes a member institution into a Dark Green School, a Medium Green School, or a Light Green School.

A Dark Green School category is the highest recognition bestowed to PNEE member institutions in acknowledgment of their exemplary achievements and leadership in environmental education.

Present in the orientation were Vice President for Research, Extension, and Intellectual Property Andrew Eusebio Tan, VP for Administration and Finance Rosalinda Tuvilla, VP for Academic Affairs Jay Estrellas, Assistant VPAA Ma. Riza Manalo, Director for Internationalization and External Relations Rhoderick Samonte, Director for Student Affairs and Services Maria Victoria Violanda, and Director for Quality Management Yrika Marie Dusaran.
