USG reps join nat’l environmental summit

Members of the University Student Government from the four campuses participated in the Green Ambassadors 5th National Environmental Summit with the theme “Youth Climate Action Towards Building Sustainable, Peaceful and Resilient Schools and Communities” held on March 1-4, 2023 at Teacher’s Camp, Baguio City. The summit featured lectures on climate change, a showcase of greening schools and communities, action plan crafting, and fellowship activities.

The students presented Ecological Waste Management System, Bottle-Net Life Jacket Project, concrete pots, footwalk tiles made with shredded plastics, and other CHMSU greening activities during the showcase.

The delegation composed of Jude L. Albacite, USG Vice President and Ivan Jay E. Esmino, CBMA Senator from Fortune Towne Campus, Ralph Langren T. Angolo, USG Vice President and Genrick M. Catalonia, USG Sec. for Advocacy and Programs from Talisay Campus, Nel Emilio O. Bison, Department of Greening CHMSU (Research and Extension) and Angelo H. Peras, Business Manager from Alijis Campus, and Gemnell G. Verzosa, USG President and Shiela Mar J. Palermo, DBF Secretary from Binalbagan Campus. The students were accompanied by Binalbagan Campus USG Adviser Eduard John Advincula.
