CHMSU DEARS clinch 3rd place in 1st Youth Resculympics

The CHMSU Disaster Emergency Assistance and Rescue Services (DEARS) placed third in the 1st Interschool Youth Rescuelympics Competition 2026 organized by VMA Global College and Training Center, Inc held in Bacolod City on February 26, 2026.

Representing the CHMSU DEARS were Angela Permelona, Marvin Hilario, Daniela Quiamco, Aldrin John Cabansag, Reva Eshe Vicencio, Arabella Canapit, Dianes Mae Pabillo, Ariane Joyce Gargantos, John Andre Parcon, Vince Divinagracia, Imer Jade Cloudy Bahalan, and Vincent Monarca.

The competition gathered various youth emergency response teams from different schools and organizations across the city for an afternoon of intensive rescue simulations and skills demonstration. 

The participants competed in five challenging stations designed to test their technical competence, teamwork, endurance, and presence of mind under pressure: Knot Tyin, Basic Life Support (BLS), Extrication, Fire Fighting, and Obstacle Run.

The team was guided by advisers Robert Pardillo, Michael Lamis, and King Abram Cabauatan, whose leadership and mentorship contributed significantly to the group’s strong performance.

Also competing and representing CHMSU the Red Cross Youth chapters based the Alijis, Binalbagan, and Talisay Campuses.

The Interschool Youth Rescuelympics 2026 highlighted the importance of disaster preparedness, emergency response readiness, and youth empowerment in building resilient communities.
