CHMSU, PNVSCA to host Regional IVY 2026 Celebration Forum for Negros Island Region

In celebration of 2026 as the International Volunteer Year (IVY) for Sustainable Development, the Philippine National Volunteer Service Coordinating Agency (PNVSCA), Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU), and the Regional Center of Expertise (RCE) in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) for the Negros Island Region (NIR) invite you to the Regional IVY 2026 Celebration Forum – NIR on June 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM via Zoom and Facebook Live!

Join volunteer leaders from the academe, civil society, government, and the private sector as we mark the Philippines’ contribution to this global initiative recognizing volunteerism’s role in advancing sustainable development and community resilience.

Amid current socioeconomic challenges, this Forum offers a platform to promote volunteerism, share good practices, build partnerships, and explore collaborative volunteer-driven responses to emerging issues—strengthening our shared commitment to volunteerism as a catalyst for sustainable development and social solidarity.

The Regional IVY 2026 Celebration Forum – Negros Island Region features an outstanding lineup of speakers and resource persons from various sectors. Pia Castillo, Senior Volunteer Service Officer of PNVSCA, will be joined by Rhoderick Samonte, Director for Internationalization and External Relations of CHMSU, and Coleen Awit, Senior Program Manager of Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute, Inc. Also taking the floor are Maria Sharon V. Ciocon, General Manager of Ayala Malls Capitol Central in Bacolod City; Engr. Joan Nathaniel Gerangaya, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services of DENR-NIR; and Katherine Maguad-Jocame, Local Youth Development Officer of the City of Sipalay.

The forum will also feature special messages from Donald James Gawe, Executive Director of PNSCA, and Governor Manuel L. Sagarbarria of the Province of Negros Oriental, Chairperson of Regional Development Council of NIR.
