The Gender and Development (GAD) Office held a Seminar-Workshop on the “What, Why, and How of the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG)” for all faculty of Alijis Campus on September 4, 2026, at the Campus Library.
The participants and guests were welcomed by Administrative Officer Rhoda Vista, while GAD Director Ana Mary Ann Pancho delivered the briefing and rationale for the seminar. Meanwhile, Director for Extension and Community Services Wanny Jaron introduced the resource speakers.
More HGDG seminar-workshops will be also held in the upcoming weeks for the remaining three campuses , as part of the GAD Office’s campaign for an updated understanding of the guidelines among CHMSU faculty.
Officials from the State University of Northern Negros served as the resource speakers for the seminar-workshop. The interactive lecture-discussion on the What, Why, and How of the HGDG was led by Director for Research and Development Kristine Soberano. Meanwhile, Director for Extension Services Vanessa Cayacay guided the participants through the framework and application of the guidelines.

In the afternoon, participants took part in a hands-on workshop and critiquing session to deepen their understanding of gender-responsive planning and programming.
The seminar closed with the distribution of certificates and closing remarks from Alijis GAD Coordinator Methuselah Daba-ay. The program was hosted by Prof. Maria Luna De La Cerna of the GEEGAD faculty.
