The fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students from the Alijis and Binalbagan campuses gathered for the TechTalk: Exploring Emerging Technologies in Modern Computing, held at the Alijis Audio-Visual Room (AVR) on October 20, 2026.
Organized by BSIT 4A & 4B, the activity is part of the classes’ outputs in the IT Trends Seminar and Field Trip course under Prof. Alona Magante.

The seminar featured discussions on emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Data Science and Analytics.
Elderych Ken Espiritu, who specializes in AI, automation, and robotics, discussed development using Google Antigravity and AI orchestration.
Meanwhile, Yestnned Tabanquero shared insights on Arduino and its applications in understanding and interacting with technological systems.
Paolo Hildao discussed the fundamentals of data science, emphasizing the importance of ethical practices and the risks of bias in AI model development. His presentation highlighted the need for responsible approaches to developing and utilizing data-driven technologies.

To complement the technical discussions, the program also featured interactive activities, games, and icebreakers that encouraged student participation and engagement.
The seminar provided a platform for future IT professionals to explore emerging technological trends, deepen their technical understanding, and recognize the importance of ethical and responsible innovation in an increasingly technology-driven world.
