CHED: College of Education programs, OSAS compliant to standards

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Office VI has determined that four programs within the College of Education and the Office of Student Affairs and Services of CHMSU are compliant after a thorough monitoring and evaluation session at the Talisay Campus on March 6.

The evaluation primarily centered on assessing the adherence to program standards and guidelines outlined in CHED Memorandum Orders for the four programs within the College of Education–BSED Mathematics, Science, Filipino, and Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education.

The CHED monitoring team was composed of education supervisors Roxanne Edrosolano, Edgar Allan Grey, and Sonia Brito.

In addition to program compliance, the CHED supervisors also evaluated the Office of Student Affairs and Services, ensuring that all services provided to students align with the highest standards set by CHED.

However, the CHED monitoring team recommended enriching the library holdings and replacing the Filipino subjects in the curriculum with subjects such as peace education and indigenous people’s education. The insights and suggestions derived from this evaluation are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing university standards. (by Jerenel Gutierrez)
