Project PEACE (Partnership for Empowerment, Advancement, and Continuing Education) of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization under the College of Arts and Sciences Extension Program hosted the Dagyaw sa Negros Libre nga Bulig Legal Para sa Manguguma of Kaisahan Tungo sa Kaunlaran ng Kanayunan at Repormang Pansakahan (KAISAHAN) at the Function Hall, 3rd Floor, Green Building, CHMSU Talisay (Main) Campus on July 22, 2022.
One of the key components of Dagyaw sa Negros is to give free legal advice and assistance available for land and human rights defenders, as well as communities, pursuing land rights claims. To aid land and human rights defenders, KAISAHAN is implementing a land and human rights project supported by the European Union Delegation to the Philippines dubbed as Dagyaw Negros Para sa Duta or Negros Solidarity for Land Rights.
A total of 26 agrarian reform farmers with 7 cases availed of the free legal assistance. Today’s help desk was run by twenty two organizers, lawyers, and volunteers.
