The Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Negros Occidental Chapter officially recognized the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) chapter of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) as one of the Most Outstanding JPIA Local Chapter for Fiscal Year 2025–2026.
The award honors CHMSU’s JPIA chapter for its exceptional leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence among accountancy student organizations in the region. CHMSU was recognized along with the local chapters from the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos and Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod.
The JPIA-CHMSU Chapter, together with the other awardees, were honored through their sustained and active participation in PICPA-led initiatives, demonstrating the kind of professional engagement and organizational discipline that the Institute seeks to cultivate in future Certified Public Accountants.

The organization also expressed its deep appreciation to Prof. Jason Cercado, Chair on Student Participation, whose unwavering mentorship has been central to keeping JPIA members, including those at CHMSU, actively engaged with PICPA. Prof. Cercado is one of the faculty members of the BS in Accountancy Program of CHMSU.
The JPIA – CHMSU Chapter for AY 2025 – 2026 were led by President Hannah Doromal, VP for Academics Ken Robert Basa, Asst. VP for Academics Rhubelliene Tabuyan, VP for Non-Academics Jessa Algodon, and Asst. VP for Non-Academics Benedict Joseph Rivera. They were guided by adviser Prof. Geofrey Rivera, Prof. Jasmin Gura, and Prof. Cercado.
PICPA Negros Occidental commended the chapter’s members and officers for their continued support in advancing the goals of the accountancy profession.
