First-year Bachelor of Arts and Science students spearheaded and organized the 6th CASinemalaya Awards Night, held on March 6, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Multi-purpose Gymnasium Talisay (Main) Campus, as the culminating activity of the CASinemalaya series.
The event brought together dedicated student organizers, assigned committees, and technical staff who worked behind the scenes to bring the evening to life, along with esteemed guests including judges, senior students, faculty members, and university administrators.









The 6th CASinemalaya served as a platform for showcasing carefully selected student films that highlight Negrosanon heritage and gender-sensitive themes, promoting cultural awareness and deeper social understanding rooted in the realities and stories of Negros Island.
The awards night marked the culmination of seven months of planning and preparation by the first-year students, who collaborated across various committees to ensure the successful execution of the event. Throughout the evening, outstanding films and individuals were recognized for their excellence in storytelling and production. Himálay won Best Film, with Dolor as 1st Runner-up and Puerto Silencio as 2nd Runner-up. Himálay also received several awards, including Best Cinematography, Best Screenplay, Best Trailer, Best Composer, Best Original Hiligaynon Song, and Best Director for Ancair Joy Vaflor.
Other winners included Puerto Silencio for Best Editing and Best Production Design, Pagmata for Best Sound Design, Dolor for Best Promotional Video, and Abo de Uma for Best Poster. Rebecca Gegantoni (Dolor) was recognized as Best Teacher Consultant, while acting awards were given to Sarr Emerald Delfinado (Dolor) as Best Actress, Joel Dunggon (Panubli) as Best Actor, Jovelyn Villanueva and Deceiah Joyce Pastor (Himálay) as Best Supporting Actress, and Froilan Siñerez (Yosi) as Best Supporting Actor.
