CHMSU partners with Talisay, JCI to bring FreeCycle Day to Talisaynons

Talisaynons found new homes for pre-loved items donated by CHMSUans during the FreeCycle Day, held at the Talisay City Public Plaza on the morning of April 24, 2026.

The event was held in celebration of Earth Month 2026. From senior citizens and PWDs to excited children and city employees, residents from all walks of life participated in the initiative.

The “free store” featured a diverse array of goods—including clothing, footwear, electronics, gadgets, kitchenware, and toys—all ready to be reused rather than relegated to a landfill.

The activity was facilitated by the Center for Internationalization and External Relations, supported by student volunteers from the Event Management Team and the CHMSU 3Zero Club.

From April 20 to 23, 2024, CHMSU students, faculty, and staff donated items from their homes that were no longer in use, giving these belongings a second life.

FreeCycle Day was made possible through the collaboration of CHMSU, the City of Talisay, JCI Talisay, the RCE on Education for Sustainable Development, and XFM Bacolod.
