Headed by the Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Intellectual Property, the Intellectual Property Management Office now Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management Office holds an Inauguration Ceremony on November 6, 2023, at the Global Learning Café, Green Building, Talisay (Main) Campus.
The establishment of the IPTBM Office became a reality through the collaborative efforts of various entities, the Department of Science and Technology, the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD). This initiative strongly aligns with CHMSU’s strategic research objectives, particularly within the framework of the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE). Armando R. Reosura, PhD, Director of the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management Office, shared his vision for this new chapter. He emphasized the significance of merging research and innovation to cultivate a thriving business environment, both within the university and beyond.
In an audio-visual message, Noel A. Catibog, Director of TTPD-PCAARD, expressed optimism about this collaborative endeavor. He highlighted the potential of this initiative to inspire more Filipinos to embrace entrepreneurship and innovation. Furthermore, he stressed that this undertaking would foster stronger partnerships and collaborations to nurture a conducive innovation ecosystem.
The unveiling of the IPTBM Office Marker during the ceremony symbolizes the unity among various state universities in the region. This unity promises not only new opportunities but also new challenges for CHMSU. Dr. Efren L. Linan, Vice President for Research and Extension, and Project Leader of the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program, welcomed the participants and acknowledged the transformative potential of this development. The event culminated with the official unveiling of the IPTBM Office Marker and was attended by the University President Norberto P. Mangulabnan, PhD, Andrew Eusebio S. Tan, PhD, VP for Research, Extension, and Intellectual Property, Jay B. Estrellas, EdD, VP for Academic Affairs, Rosalinda S. Tuvilla, JD, VP for Administration and Finance, along with unit heads and directors.
