WSAP national conference features CoED IP extension program

Women’s and Gender Studies Association of the Philippines (WSAP) Annual National Conference “New Governance & COVID Recovery: What Now for Gender Equality?” featured the College of Education extension program “Live Healthy and Preservation of Culture” for the Ata Community in Don Salvador Benedicto on November 24, 2022 at the Nature’s Village Resort, Talisay City.

Program leader Ana Mary Ann Pancho, Director for Alumni Affairs and College of Education faculty member, gave the presentation during a special session on Gender and Ecological Well-being.

Pancho highlighted the program’s components and alignment to Gender and Development. This included the the initiatives towards children and adult literacy and numeracy such as a book donation and volunteer work at the community’s Learning Center. In addition, she cited the medical and dental mission for the mothers and children of the Ata Community in partnership with the CHMSU Dental Clinic and Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Negros Occidental Chapter.
