CHMSU holds groundbreaking ceremony for new research hub

CHMSU held a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the design and build of the four-storey multi-use Research Innovation and Extension Hub Phase 1 in Talisay (Main) Campus on May 8.

The building was designed to house research offices, laboratories, and spaces for technology and innovation exchange.

President Norberto P. Mangulabnan, PhD, expressed his hope that the construction will go smoothly and yield positive results for the benefit of the school’s research initiatives.

“This is another milestone in the history of CHMSU. This is a much-needed infrastructure to support our research, which is now our primary mandate as a university,” Mangulabnan said. He added that with this development, he looks forward to seeing more meaningful outcomes and outputs from the research, extension, and intellectual property sectors of the school.

Engr. Genelyn Belode, Project Engineer, and Engr. Ronelo Villanueva, Project Manager gave their Pledge of Commitment on behalf of the building contractor, ITC Corporation.

President Mangulabnan was joined by Rosalinda S. Tuvilla, JD, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Andrew Eusebio S. Tan, PhD, Vice President for Research and Extension, Jay B. Estrellas, EdD, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Atty. Juliet Pasustento, Chief Administrative Officer – Finance Division, Engr. Jun-Jun Marquez, PPDM Director, Deans, faculty, and other administrators in the burial of time capsule during the ceremony.
