Faculty and GASS personnel celebrate Thanksgiving and Fellowship 2023

Faculty and the general administrative support personnel of Carlos Hilado Memorial State University gathered at the Sugarland Hotel for a heartwarming Thanksgiving and Fellowship Celebration on December 18, 2023.

The event started with a lively dance by the Physical Education Teachers, creating a cheerful atmosphere. Rosalinda S. Tuvilla, JD, Vice President for Administration and Finance, welcomed everyone, stressing the importance of unity and collaboration for the university’s success.

Eddie M. Nuque, PhD, former assistant secretary to the president of the Philippines, was invited to be the resource speaker and shared insights on promoting workspace wellness through mindfulness. As public servants, he reminded us to be mindful of our responsibilities, especially when handling taxpayer money. He encouraged us to uphold core values like excellence, compassion, love of country, and social responsibility.

President Norberto P. Mangulabnan, PhD, delivered a thoughtful message, urging gratitude for our daily blessings and emphasizing that mindfulness of others leads to satisfaction. The program included recognizing the ten retirees with Certificates of Appreciation and honoring 53 Loyalty Award recipients for their service.

The highlight was the Magpasikat Presentation, a lively competition among campuses. Binalbagan Campus won the championship, showcasing creativity and unity. Faculty and the GASS personnel engaged in pocket games, and a raffle draw brought smiles to many faces. Prizes, including sacks of rice and household items, were distributed, with grand prizes like a Microwave, Washing Machine, and a Smart TV creating excitement.
